Alexandra Park Food Forest

Alexandra Park Food Forest
Alexandra Park Food Forest is a community green space in the East End of Glasgow where we work with nature to produce nutritious organic food that can be harvested for free by the local community. The Food Forest was planted in March 2016 by four local primary schools and the help of 120 local residents and is run by a small committed team of volunteers. We have 74 fruit and nut trees, an abundance of fruit bushes, edible and medicinal herbs, wildflower meadows, natural woodland play areas and grassy picnic spots to enjoy. We run a range of free community events, volunteer days, after school clubs and creative activities, that encourage people of all ages to come together, learn new skills, play outdoors, share seasonal produce, improve habitats for wildlife and connect with nature.

FoodforScotland
We at FoodforScotland are part of ISKCON (Hare Krishna) Farm in Lesmahagow. My name is David and we, as a small team, have been giving out free vegan meals to the students in Glasgow as well as the homeless and general public. Our project has been expanding and going very well, as we see people are becoming more concious of the food that they are eating nowadays.
