Gathering Ground CIC

Gathering Ground CIC
Food can be a vehicle for social change. It brings people together in way that very few other activities can! Our purpose at Gathering Ground is to create community gathering spaces that use food as a platform to encourage creative learning and cultural integration. Our first project at the Old Basin House will establish a socially-engaged food hub serving the North Glasgow area. We are excited to be partnering with Scottish Canals to deliver this project at Old Basin House (an old lock-keepers house which is currently being restored to it's original glory). We will host engaging a program of events and workshops to promote the exploration of different foods and cultures. These programs will have a social purpose to heal area specific social problems such as income deprivation, food poverty and high unemployment.
