Accessibility:

Getting here:

Soul Food Sisters Café is in Gallowgate, close to the Barras with public transport connections to the city centre and other areas in Glasgow via bus on the same street, the bus stop being a 2 minute walk from the café. Buses served are no 2, 60, 60A, 61, 240 Lanarkshire Connect, and 255.

Mobility:

Soul Food Sisters has a small step at the entrance door to get inside the building and apart from this is all on one level (ground floor) including the toilet.

The toilet is not wheelchair accessible or ambulant and does not have changing facilities. Because of the arrangement of tables and chairs, the space is not wheelchair accessible, but tables and chairs could be moved to accommodate a wheelchair user.

There is no hearing loop.

The kitchen and workshop space are all in the same space, so it is difficult to get away from people for quiet time unless leaving the cafe.

About Soul Food Sisters (SFS):

Soul Food Sisters is a collective of migrant and local women based in East Glasgow, united by a passion for authentic food.

Through the exchange of recipes, ideas, and skills, they enhance women's lives and combat social isolation. As a not-for-profit organization, SFS connects women from diverse backgrounds, empowering them to cultivate their talents in the kitchen and beyond.
