CHEX is a national intermediary organisation who supports and promotes community development approaches to health improvement. We provide support to a network of community-led health initiatives and their public sector partners who are tackling health inequalities in communities across Scotland. CHEX works at two levels:: Strategically we support community-led health initiatives to engage with policy makers. We are also involved in a range of national working groups as appropriate. Operationally we help link community-led health initiatives, voluntary organisations and public sector agencies together. Supporting effective community development practice to a wide range of health improvement interventions. CHEX began in 1999 and is funded by NHS Health Scotland as part of the Scottish Community Development Centre.

Skills and resources I/we can share

Information, training and practice resources on community-led health, community development, & community engagement.. We host a national searchable on-line database of local community led projects, by jining other people can find out about the work you do. We can profile and share news about local projects via our fortnightly newsletterer 'snippets'.

Up to date informaiton on what local projects are doing, and the issues they're facing so that we can highlight these with policy makers and funders.
