About

Vision Hope Amplified works to provide practical help, social and volunteering opportunities for socially isolated and vulnerable people. Our service users include children, young people and elderly families from the African community. We have 12 regular registered volunteers, 2 FT and 2 PT paid staff. All those working with children, young people and vulnerable adults are PVG registered with Disclosure Scotland. Governance The management committee is made of three members-chairperson, secretary, and treasurer, and they meet every quarter (4 times) a year. The Secretary is responsible for the recruitment and supervision of the volunteers. The treasurer is a chartered accountant (ACCA), responsible for the day to day management of the organisation finance. The Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary are signatories to the organisation cheque. The committee have overall responsibility for overseeing the quarterly reconciliation and they resides within 3 miles radius of the project community. The members of the management committee members have within them over 25 years’ experience in the Third Sector Economy. Membership Membership is open to all who share the same aspiration and vision of the organisation towards the community, volunteers, and service users. Our organisation ethos is predicated on the believe that there should be no barriers to anyone who wishes to become a member and that membership should be available to everyone. As SCIO, we went a step further to ensure that there is no discrimination against members due to age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnerships, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or beliefs, sex, sexual orientation and/or political opinion or persuasion. Our work benefits the local African community residing in Glasgow, South & North Lanarkshire, and Renfrewshire. Activities We run activities including lunch club, home start, jewellery making, music, inter-generational arts, financial wellness workshop, Climate Change, computer classes, befriending and mentoring activities.
