Film Description:

Rooted: Growing a Local Food Ecosystem is Propagate's film that asks - how can we work together to create a fair, healthy and sustainable food system?

Rooted meets nature friendly farmers and food producers across Dumfries and Galloway, explores ways to access local food, and visits community projects inspiring good food citizenship.

Rooted has been made in collaboration with Soft Error (Emma Dove), with D&G Sustainable Food Partnership, and funded by Inspiring Scotland.

If you would like to host a screening please get in touch with Propagate to discuss what you need and how they can help: https://www.propagate.org.uk/c...

Panel members:

Elaina Rose Kelly, Co-Director at The Wash House Garden and Coordinator of Community Outreach and Events.

Elaina’s professional vocation is to empower individuals to learn and value our natural ecosystems, develop local food systems and empower individual health and wellbeing through nature based connection.

The Wash House Garden was borne out of a desire to feel a sense of mutual support and solidarity in a society in which communities have been decimated across the generations, and to grow and eat delicious food that nourished body and soul, soil and planet in spite of our globalised, environmentally damaging, and frankly bland modern food system. Faced with these at times overwhelming issues, and in the hope of inspiring ripples of change, here in Glasgow’s East End we are taking a small step in the direction we would like to see our society, environment and economy move in.

Reuben founded Locavore which has been working to build sustainable local food systems in and around Glasgow for over a decade. Locavore run shops, delivers veg boxes and have just started a 20 acre organic vegetable farm in Renfrewshire.
