This networking event took a slightly different format, celebrating our current campaign, Full of Beans which is being delivered in partnership with Glasgow Food Policy Partnership.
We had speakers and contributors from Glasgow Seed Library, Greencity Wholefoods, Slow Food Glasgow, and Propagate permaculturalist Lusi Alderslowe.
After presentations on the value of seed diversity, seed saving, permaculture growing practices, and the heritage of different bean varieties, we enjoyed a delicious bean-packed lunch from MILK. We had a white bean stew and bean chilli, the recipe for which can be found on page 56 of the Good Food From Glasgow Cookbook.
The afternoon was filled with bean campaign activities focused around growing, cooking, and creativity. It was great to receive feedback after the event that attendees are planning to get involved in the campaign by serving beans at community meals, growing beans with their communities, and take part in campaign activities.
Thanks to those who came along and got involved, we can’t wait to see more of your involvement in the Full of Beans campaign throughout 2024.
