Soil and Composting Masterclass
Did you know that the soil that we walk on and that we grow our food in is not just rocks and dirt, but a whole ecosystem?
Soil is alive, it's home to billions of microorganisms, invertebrates and other animals. The health of the soil is key to a healthy climate and a healthy food system.
Join us in this workshop on soil health and composting as we learn how our soil supports us and how we can support our soil.
This workshop is led by Mark Hanlon, soil scientist at the James Hutton Institute in Dundee. We will look at the basics of soil science, soil remediation and how we can start healing our soils by composting.
How to get there:
The workshop will be held at Polmadie Plots in Toryglen. Polmadie Plots are located along the footpath between the Toryglen Asda, Polmadie Recycling place and Malls Mire woodland. To get there, follow the pedestrian path between Polmadie Road and Prospecthill Circus or the pedestrian path on Jessie Street towards Prospecthill Circus. The nearest bus stop is on Aitkenhead Road, a 10 minute walk from the plots.
